I agree with Jonathan T Clark’s (Argus December 20th) sentiments regarding trimming local governments.
There are currently 50 councillors for 20 wards in Newport which seems ludicrous after you take into account AMs that represent Newport in assembly. Too many tiers of government means less action and more costs.
