NATIONALIST Mr Nutt claims Plaid Cymru’s Caerphilly councillors are trying to sort out the senior officers’ pay rise problem (Argus, 7 January).
They took their time. If the Plaid Cymru-controlled council had sorted the issue before May 2012, when they should have, they wouldn’t have any excuse to whinge now. And if they were so unhappy when the decision to pay the rises was made, why didn’t they object at the time? Mr Nutt knows, too, that the forthcoming council tax benefit cut is the fault of the Westminster ConDem government, not the Labour Welsh Government. If he wants the Welsh Government to make up for the cuts, what Assembly budget does he want the money to come from?
