I READ with great interest your recent story (Thursday January 3rd) about XFOR officers working with Torfaen county borough council to issue fixed penalty notices to dog fouling and littering.
About time too! On several occasions over the past few years, I have been disgusted to see piles of litter throughout Cwmbran, and I have written to both Cwmbran shopping and Torfaen council requesting more bins are provided, and also I have reported and sent photographs of the litter to the council. So the news that XFOR will be issuing fixed penalties is very welcome. There is no excuse whatsoever for littering or allowing dogs to foul and not clean it up, maybe people will be more careful about keeping their towns and villages tidy if they know they’ll be penalised for not doing so.
