Apology for lighting delay

TO the residents who live around Green Lane and Fernleigh Road, Caldicot, may I apologise to those who have over the last few months been shrouded in darkness.

Just over a month ago, a resident in the area did advise me of the problem with the street lighting, saying he and others had reported it with no action. I then reported it to the appropriate officer of Mon CC who advised me Western Power had been informed. One month on and still no action. Late on Saturday evening I witnessed a near serious accident with a partially sighted person and again reported the problem, this time with more vigour. It’s a shame one has to go to such lengths to get action, but I suppose, a little embarrassment is better than a lawsuit.
