THERE seems to be so much fuss with this amalgamation between Brynglas and Crindau. Surely the children’s education and welfare should always come first, not politics, not scoring points between schools. My opinion is that if a school is doing very well within its guidelines and meeting its targets, which Crindau is doing, then what are the benefits going to be? Why do staff have to be subjected to this worry over their positions when they are doing so well?
Yes, people say, “it’s only a name”, the name doesn’t matter, but it does when the school has had that name for over a hundred years, history that the children can be proud of and the veterans of Crindau School, I’m sure, could tell many a reason for keeping the name.
