Infor please on Charles Cross
3:22pm Tuesday 29th January 2013 in Letters
I AM currently researching my family tree and have come up against a few “brick walls”; I wonder if any of your readers from the Bedwas/Trethomas/Machen areas may be able to help.
Primarily, I am trying to trace information on my grandfather, Charles Cross. He married Eleanor Montgomery around 1896. He was originally from the Bassaleg area, and lived for some years in Birmingham where most of his children, including my mother, were born. About 1912/13 the family moved to Rogerstone (John Street). Eleanor died in 1922, but Charles lived on for many years; bringing his daughter Irene, the youngest of six children. I know when he was older he lived for a while in Michaelstone-y-fedw with Irene but then moved to Bedwas to live with a cousin or other relative.
I do not know when he died but he was eventually buried alongside Eleanor in St John’s Church in Rogerstone. I would be most grateful if anyone who has any information on Charles could contact me.
