I SEE in your January 24 report that Caerphilly’s council leader, Harry Andrews, is hopeful that the compromise pay deal for senior officers will demonstrate that the “determination to address the issue was sincere”.
Fine words – but he was not determined or sincere enough to answer my communications to him. I made several telephone calls to his home, two to his office and I sent him three e-mails. I did not have a single reply – not even a standard acknowledgement! This might be his idea of courtesy and leadership but it is not mine. I take it that the leader of Labour-run council does not really care what the residents of Caerphilly think.
