Call to stop gay marriage

CAN everyone in this country wake up before it’s too late and ask your MP to vote against it. What am I talking about? The bill to redefine marriage. Which has its second reading in the House of Commons on Tuesday, February 5.

Family breakdown is already rife, with all its consequences, and making a mockery of marriage is not the way forward. This bill should be stopped before untold damage is done. We have a minister, culture secretary Maria Miller, saying: “In opening up marriage to same sex couples we will further strengthen the importance of marriage.”

Is this women for real, or does she take lessons from David Cameron?

I bet there will be no mention of the damage this bill will do, and the message it’s sending out to our children, the discrimination it will create for people who disagree about gay marriage, “who will” be prosecuted for speaking out against it, or failing to teach it as normal. Once you abolish the most important pre-condition of marriage – namely as between one man and one woman – you give up any basis upon which to make a stand. What is so pathetic is that, at the present moment in time, (while promoting gay marriage) no political party in our country has a coherent framework to support real family life. Whilst recognising that this is a legal minefield for religious bodies, irrational wittering like this is just irrelevant. How in hell can what a.n. other couple do, same sex or otherwise, alter the vows this guy has made to that woman. I don't get it. Can someone explain to me how a gay couple, entering into what they call marriage in any way harms a straight couple? Or impacts the straight couple's likelihood of staying together? I don't have a strong view on the gay marriage issue one way or the other but can recognise a specious argument when I see one.

1) Gay marriage causes family breakdown.

2) Gay marriage will cause untold damage.

3) Gay marriage makes children gay.

4) Heterosexuals are discriminated against by gays or gay marriage discriminates against heterosexual marriage.

5) Heterosexuals will be prosecuted for not celebrating gayness.

6) Gay sex will be graphically taught by law in schools.

7) The pre-condition if marriage is between one man and one woman.

8) Marriage between one man and one woman will be abolished by the gays.

9) Political parties do, or are obliged to provide a framework for family life.

10) Spamming your MP will defeat the evil gays.

If I were you I would be really concerned about your own marriage. If same sex partners choose to enter a legally binding contract then fine. If you think it infringes yours then perhaps you should question your marriage.
