Takeaways are a true triumph

NOT many residents of Pontymister and Risca will be aware that Caerphilly Borough Council’s planning committee is considering planning permission to turn the Risca House Inn into an Indian restaurant.

This latest stroke of genius has put Pontymister/Risca into the Guinness Book of Records for having more hot food outlets per head of population than any other area in Britain, relegating London into second place. Sadly we have no Mexican takeaway or a sushi bar so London still holds the record for variety. But with a little bit of ingenuity from the planning committee I’m sure we will take that title in the near future. Another feather in our cap is wherever you eat in Pontymister or Risca you can pop next door and get your hair and nails done while waiting for your meal.

Mr. Jones of Risca -- clearly showing the money invested in his Sarcasm degree wasn't entirely wasted.

If it is half as good as the quality of food and service in the Tamarin restaraunt close by then it will attract people into Risca and Pontymister and help the local economy.
Don't live near Risca/Pontymister but because of the quality of food, I have made the trip with a group of frinds to eat at the Tamarin.
Don't really see the need for planning consent from the council as it is of similar use as the pub.
Let's hope that it is a success.
