Proper speed bumps a must

AT LAST a politician has raised the serious issue of dangerous speeding traffic on our roads, especially in built-up residential streets.

Although Jocelyn Davies, Plaid Cymru AM, and fellow Assembly Members dutifully call for 20mph zones in our streets, too many careless and idiotic motorists will ignore the signposts and continue to endanger residents young and old. We need pedestrian crossings and speed humps across the full width of our streets, gutter to gutter, not the useless and dangerous single humps which are ignored in most areas at the moment by too many irresponsible speed merchants! One suffering casualty is one too many!

The "full-width" speed humps you are ranting about would hamper the emergency services and buses which are currently able to straddle the narrower types.

And who do you propose will pay for this Mr Donovan?

Quite right- who's going to pay for it?
You must think we're one of the most taxed countries in the world!! Huh, I've never heard such rubbish! If we are going to expect a decent service from our publically funded councils and politicians then we're going to have to be taxed even more for the privelige.
Fags are almost £10 a packet (all tax) fuel is almost a £ a litre tax and then you've got all the other hundreds of taxes that we already pay and never see the money again plus the £35m a week we pay the EU! Do you really think that under a clear, accountable and transparent gubberment that we'd have any money left over for the safety of the public? Duh!
