Digging up our past...or not

DOES the council know something we don’t about what is underneath Newport High Street?

This is the only conclusion I can come to about their persistence on digging it up. Do they think there is gold or even another King of England underneath? Or are they secretly digging through to Australia to escape the appalling conditions the traders of High Street and the public have to suffer on a daily basis?

I spoke to a workman outside of Mc Donalds last week and he told me that they were working for Welsh Water doing a repair to a collapsed sewer. I asked him why it wasn't done before the road was repaved and what the council were up to. He told me that it collapsed after the new road was laid.. Sods law, the luck of the Newportonian strkes again
