TWO great iconic bridges, Clifton Suspension Bridge, also Newport Transporter Bridge, one in use serving the population of the City of Bristol, with the latter serving no purpose whatsoever for the people in the City of Newport!.
SS Great Britain and the Newport Ship, the SS Great Britain being more iconic of the two in my mind! Could we not house this Newport Ship in Coronation Park alongside the Transporter Bridge, and then build luxury penthouse apartments all around these iconic objects for £1.5 million pounds! Why should these objects be exempt from cuts or big grants? The people of the city of Newport have a right to be aggrieved, when cuts are being made in all departments with rates on the increase, for fewer services.
