SEPTEMBER 5 will mark the 50th anniversary of the second apprentice intake at RTB, Spencer Works, Llanwern. As a member of that intake of 18 apprentices, I would be interested in hearing from any, or all, of the other 17. I left the steelworks about two weeks after finishing my apprenticeship and went to sea. In 1970 I migrated to Australia, where I still reside. Would also like to hear from any older apprentices, especially the fitters and turners of the first intake, with whom we shared the Apprentice Training Centre during our first year.
