Arctic medal is long overdue

MAY I thank the council and the Argus for their support in pushing the Government to issue a medal for those seamen who voyaged the dangerous Arctic waters during the Second World War.
It was announced today that a medal will be issued shortly to the surviving veterans or the families of those that didn’t. This is long overdue, but at last these selfless sacrifices will be positively acknowledged.
