Osborne shows true colours

IT’S at moments like these when you see the true colours of Chancellor George Osborne. Right now he’s in Europe lobbying not for a rebate for hard-pressed British taxpayers or to enhance workers’ rights, but in the very week RBS posted record losses of £5 billion while simultaneously paying out £600 million in bonuses, the Chancellor is in Brussels lobbying to protect bankers’ bonuses!

While millionaire George Osborne is pronouncing austerity for the citizens of the UK on the one hand, he is trying to stop a new European law which would cap bankers’ bonuses to no more than one year’s pay with the other. The argument he’ll use is that if we cap his pals’ bonuses, London won’t be able to recruit the brightest and best.

Perhaps we should all apply for a job in the feckless City. Almost anyone could run a bank as badly as Fred Goodwin, especially if they get to keep their bonuses and a £16 million pension pot.

As reported in the Spectator today: The richest 2 million houses are, on average, £127,000 better off pa and the poorest 2 million are, on average, £310 pa worse off.

All thanks to Dave, George and the rest of the caring, sharing, compassionate Tory Government.
