No need for sign to shops

AFTER feeling saddened by your headline ‘Ghost City,’ I popped into town to do a few errands and go to the bank, and I was so stunned at what I saw outside the TSB I just had to take a photograph as I couldn’t believe my eyes.

A brand, spanking new, shiny signpost has been erected at the bottom of Charles Street! Said signpost has about 11 different signs pointing to various things in Newport. You couldn’t make it up, could you? The town is on its knees and the council goes and pays for a new signpost (in English and Welsh) to direct you to the ‘Bus Station and Toilets’, the ‘Passport Office,’ and ‘Taxis,’ to name just a few important locations. I notice there was not a sign to ‘The Shops,’ as we all know there aren’t many left anymore.

Talk about rubbing salt in traders’ wounds! What sort of Mickey Mouse operation is this council running? They are no better than the previous ones. Newport has become Dodge City.

What is it about Newportonians that they feel the need to moan about absolutely everything? Fairly obviously the signs are not meant for natives, but for visitors. Have you ever been to another place and got lost? *rolls eyes*

Some people see the smallest thing as a massive problem. I bet the cost of the truly despicable affront to Sarah was a drop in the ocean.

Over inflated sense of entitlement/opinion?

"I just had to take a photograph as I couldn’t believe my eyes."

You have your priorities wrong.
