Deport him to Newbridge

WELL, I hope the councillors of Newport City who – at the expense of the ratepayers – supported Sir Terry Matthews and his venture in hosting the Ryder Cup (which made him hundreds of thousands of pounds) are well pleased with themselves for being made out to be the biggest fools by Sir Terry.

His latest call for Newport to be annexed by Cardiff is little more than a stab in the back of us all and I also believe he instigated the advertising of the Ryder Cup as being at the Celtic Manor ‘in Cardiff’. It’s time that Newport City washed its hands of this man who thinks that he owes no loyalty to Newport. He should be sent back to his Valley town of Newbridge – although I suspect that they will have a customs control at Risca to make certain that never happens.

We like the idea of some sort of customs control Shaun, but I must warn you that if Sir Terry, who one day may be king, it could be heads off for us!

I've been waiting because of certain health problems taffymark to pop my clods for a number of years now and it ain't happened yet. So getting my head popped off in a single blow would be much cleaner and quicker. Anyway I would love to meet OUR Terry and tell him what a pompous, arrogant arsehole he is, a legend in his own mind. Newport belongs to the people of Newport, not too a **** from Newbridge (no offence to the normal citizens of Newbridge many of whom I have met and worked with over years and considered as friends). Terry Matthews is a different kettle of fish though!

I'm sure the good people of Newbridge would welcome Sir Terry home at every opportunity. We only wish he had brought the thousands of jobs that he created in Newport to the area where he came from.
When he created the "Newbridge" company in Newport he was hailed as a great man for creating these well paid jobs but now that he has aired his personal views on regionalisation he is a villain in Newport.
It is obviouse that the town of Newport is dying on its feet and if it were a business it would and should be wound up.
Perhaps Sir Terry's suggestion is too much of a bitter pill for the Townies of Newport to swallow but at least he is offering up an option that might stop them starving.
Terry bach, you are always welcome back home in Newbridge..

Well done Cwmderi I hope he gets to hear of your offer and takes you up on it.
Matthews as done nothing for Newport other than to sponge off the council tax payers here whilst lining his pockets with hundreds of thousands of pounds. The thousands of jobs that you say he created in Newport is figment of your imagination as it never happened and certainly many were not that well paid, I know because I knew of people that worked for him. If you want him back, then your very welcome to him, could you make it tomorrow? Unfortunately Terry Matthews shyte on his home town first before Newport, Newbridge!, not a bloke to trust in my opinion when he only considers himself first.
