A PERFORMANCE which relies on audience participation is being performed for the first time at a Bournemouth hotel from today.

Produced by Pavilion Dance South West, audiences will encounter a businessman, chambermaid and other hotel occupants and will follow them around as they learn more about their secrets.

Tim Casson, choreographer of Selling Secrets and Artistic Director of Casson & Friends, said: “This is a is behind the professionally performed piece.

He added: “Selling Secrets draws upon local people’s stories, secrets and experiences of Bournemouth.

“It offers a new approach to making dance where local people not only provide the inspiration, but also help to choreograph the work in collaboration with our highly skilled performers.

“We are very excited about this unique opportunity.

“It is based on a project that I did last year called The Dance We Made, which involved running around London and speaking to members of the public for two months and asking them to show me a dance move.

“Pavilion Dance heard about it, showed interest and challenged us to create a performance in a hotel in Bournemouth.

“It’s for people that want a different kind of experience.”

Selling Secrets, created by Casson & Friends, is available to see from today to Saturday, at the Wessex Hotel, on the town’s West Cliff Road.

Performances take place at 7pm, 7.45pm and 8.30pm at the Wessex Hotel on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Tickets cost £5 each and can be bought by contacting Pavilion Dance on 01202 203630 or go to Paviliondance.org.uk
