It's my business

I DON’T mind people knowing my age (90) but I object to being asked my date of birth by advertisers. What on earth is it to do with them? If I picked a garment in a shop and was asked by the sales assistant, “how old are you?” he/she would get a dusty answer!
I thought DAMART was the only offender, (which is why I don’t deal with them) but I see, in the Radio Times, that another firm (Premier) has this impudent question on its order form. An appropriate response might be to either indicate that you are an infant, or born during the first world war; serve them right, wouldn’t it?
