SO FROM 9,000 jobs down to 6,000 and now down to 3,000 jobs, which brings my previous estimates (previous correspondence) down to 200 jobs (part-time, low- paid) which coincides with Mr Palmer’s estimates of the workforce!
As for the gentleman from Newport who criticised me for suggesting that the scheme/project in its entirety is another white elephant, his naïveté astounds me, especially coming from Newport where so many schemes have foundered once money (in grants or loans) has been handed over! Also, was he aware that the Welsh Government is providing a £2 million ‘loan’? Dear, oh dear! They never learn, do they? But then that’s what comes of a government that is not politically aware, has no political nous and is not politically mature. They will continue to hand over cash to any hare-brained scheme that comes their way.
The editorial in the Argus still supports the scheme. Maybe one day, hopefully soon, the mud will fall from their eyes!
