NOT a day goes by when you don’t read how hospitals have let patients down in one way or another - well this is the other side. My husband had an operation only a week ago at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport. He was admitted on the Tuesday and had his operation on Wednesday and was discharged on the Friday. In the time he was there he received excellent nursing and care. From Mr Thomas [consultant] all staff were really informative and polite to myself and my daughter.
We were encouraged to telephone if we were at all concerned about my husband’s operation or if we were worried about his recovery. The meals were varied and he enjoyed all meals he received while a patient there.
Today we’re hearing such horror stories of the NHS. People are more than ready to moan about lack of care but we had no need to be critical of the hospital at all. Our thanks to Mr G THomas and team and all staff at D5 West ward, we are very grateful for your care.
Mr and Mrs Grahame Price Ebbw Vale
