Thanks Marion

ISLWYN AM Gwyn Price’s column is always worth a read (‘Your AM writes’, 26 November). And, on behalf of the Pontllanfraith ward, I’d like to echo Gwyn’s tribute to the Rev Marion Barge of St Marys Church, Pentllwyn.

Though the phrase ‘pillar of the community’ can often be read on these pages, very few people could merit that praise more than Marion. Her commitment over many years to the wellbeing and pastoral care of Penllwyn and Pontllanfraith residents has made a real difference to people’s lives, in a community where many face real deprivation.

We thank the Rev Marion and wish her, and Brian, a long, healthy and enjoyable retirement.

Oh really. What earth shattering statements or revolutionary proposals has Mr Price AM ever put forward.in his Argus column?
In his last column he even used the ofttimes quote of Mr Cameron about "Hard working families".
Suggest he raps his PR researchers on he knuckles and get them to come up with something positive that he is achieving in the Assembly. Or is that too much of a task?
I'm sure we all wish the Rev Marion Barge every good health in her well earned retirement.
