Death wish

A COUPLE of evenings ago BBC Wales televised the response of First Minister Carwyn Jones to the Pisa report on the abysmally low standards of education in Wales. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; complacency didn’t even begin to describe his attitude to the questions of the opposition. But then, why should he care? Like Newport Council’s stance over the mural fiasco, the WAG and the Welsh Labour Party have got built-in immunity to any criticism. Come the next round of elections, most of the same politicians who have caused the problems will be back in office and carry on just as before.

To the big world on the other side of the River Severn witnessing the goings-on in Cardiff, they must think Wales has some sort of political death wish with no hope of redemption.

Mr. A. Greenhalgh Ross Street Newport

That was a total waste of money. Fly-Be have already announced that they are reducing the number of flights from Cardiff next year and may pull out entirely over the next few years, Still it was essential that he took steps to safeguard the Carwyn WAG flight to North Wales

Mr Greenhalgh.....

Maybe a completely NEW party, not in the mould of Nu Labour, but more with the nous to formulate a concurrence in policies that defines the borders between greed and necessity.
One that actually removes a 'party' in the old meaning of the word.

Our main problem across the whole nation is not one of Labour or Tory etc, but m ore to do with entrenched leaderships that are so cast in their particular ways, there is no movement coming from the lower levels where most of the enthusiastic come aboard, but whose enthusiasm is soon replaced by party structural ambition to follow on that ever upwards path to political glory.

What price those OAP's, health services, education, housing etc... government of and for the people, when there is an hierarchy to surmount
in the scramble to the top. and to hell with whose throats get stamped on, be they fellow party members or the general public.

The old saying comes to mind, when in a political party it's a case of ....
"mind over matter, they don'y mind, and we don't matter!"

But when iot comes to downright mendacity there's the other case of we being ...."mushroom, kept in the dark and fed on ****!".
