RE CAERPHILLY council allowances probe referred to police. The public needs to be aware that in the summer of 2012, soon after Labour took control of Caerphilly council, the Labour leadership discovered these car loan payments were being made and asked for an investigation by the Audit Office.
These loans had been set up in 2009 during the time Plaid Cymru were in charge and continued to be paid throughout their term of governance.
The auditors carried out their investigation and deemed the payments unlawful. As the report says, the matter is now in the hands of the police.
If Mr Nutt is keen to apportion blame then he should address his anger at the Plaid Cymru leadership.
Roy Saralis Councillor, Penmaen Ward Blackwood
