Stick unfair

THERE were three web messages in “your say” on January 3 criticising Newport City Council because of their poor record of attracting visitors to Tredegar House. I feel this is unfair as the council does not have the national coverage the National Trust has. In addition, the NT has much experience in managing historic properties which obviously the council did not. I write this letter as a volunteer at Tredegar House and I have no connection with the council – who get a lot of stick but few pats on the back.

Sorry that does not wash. Newport has a responsibility for Tourism

If Newport was unable to properly market Tredegar House why did it hang on to it for years and cost local taxpayers millions of pound a year?

Millions per year is a pittance to new labour and their magic money tree. They probably weighed up the cost against the number of union members who would maintain it.

Usual negativity. Don't miss an opportunity to push the UKIP agenda at the expense of having a go at Labour, or Newport Council (or preferably both together), do you? Would be nice to see some comment from you sometime that was remotely constructive.

Constructive comment on new labour or the new labour dominated council?

I'll have a go... I like their new motto and logo. One nation new labour. Very apt and constructive, not to mention revealing.

( if you need a clue the nation they are talking about is not Wales )

their "one nation" spiel has been pinched from the tories and refers to the uk.

Maybe it has been nicked from the tories but it clearly doesn't refer to the UK - which for a start is a state and not a nation.

If you look at the seats that new labour needs to win in order to form a majority government they are all in middle England, in short they take Wales and the north of england for granted. They assume that they can put donkeys up for election here and still get in.

Look at the candidates they stand, someone whose only job experience was being a researcher ( secretary) to an MP. Always votes with the party, never rebels, never says anything interesting. for the two hundred thousand pounds she costs us a year I could have gone down to Wilkos and bought a rubber stamp for a fiver which would do the same job, only better.

One nation new labour is quite specifically targeted at england.

UKIP Wales on the other hand....
