THERE were three web messages in “your say” on January 3 criticising Newport City Council because of their poor record of attracting visitors to Tredegar House. I feel this is unfair as the council does not have the national coverage the National Trust has. In addition, the NT has much experience in managing historic properties which obviously the council did not. I write this letter as a volunteer at Tredegar House and I have no connection with the council – who get a lot of stick but few pats on the back.
