HAVE just researched the amount this Government spends on foreign aid; an astonishing £7.8 billion pounds; that equates to £500 per head of our population. Afghanistan alone receives £250 million; a figure that does not include the cost of the war; which will cost an eye watering £20 billion to the British taxpayer. so I ask the question, What kind of country am I living in when our governments, of all shades, are happy to shell out these amounts when our own population are having to go to food banks. Answers on a postcard please.
