Grade woes

First published in Letters

IT SEEMS like the education system is letting our children down once again. How come my daughter, with a predicted grade in English Language of an A or B, despite scoring 45 per cent gets an unclassified? Is it really possible the teachers were not aware of the change in how English is marked and taught? If so, it’s an error of outstanding proportion. Total incompetence. How dare they treat our youngsters like this.

This Valley hick has completely misunderstood who is at fault. Do you really think that the nations teachers were/are all incompetent? This issue pertains to national results. Of course, it must be the teachers fault!? Ignorant doesn't quite cover it. The teaching of English Language has undergone change in every single academic year since its introduction in 87-88. How odd. Teaching staff have NO control over this. The recent debacle is certainly not the fault of hard-working teachers you complete and utter plank. This is a key reason why Wales is lagging behind the rest of the Home Nations because sheep keep voting for the same old ideals and the Taffia in the Bay are leading Wales further down the garden path.
