I HAVE been asked on many occasions why I do not write to the readers’ letter page any more. The reason: my health not too good, my attention diverted elsewhere.

The majority greatly value our National Health Service, but when really needed is cherished. I would like to thank the hard working doctors and nurses of St Woolos Chest Clinic, the Royal Gwent Hospital, the jovial banter of the ambulance service staff (a morale booster) not forgetting the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Rogerstone Practice, medication delivered to the door.

Special thanks to the St David’s Hospice Care who’s financial advice proved invaluable – where would we be without them all?
