Totally nuts

First published in Letters

IF MARCH 10’s rant (‘Fight is on the pitch’) from Andrew Nutt was from an Englishman, some people would think the writer unhinged, and a possible danger to the public! Also, Phil Bennett ought to be ashamed of himself by encouraging Nutts like this!

Well (a) the author does appear unhinged and (b) that letter revealed two people with a chip on both shoulders. Hardly time to panic. He did however miss the irony that the Captain of said Welsh battle squad is English by descent.

The English players started it all by saying the Welsh hate the english. After all a British team won the 1966 football world cup and a British team won the rugby world cup. Or sorry an English team.

Seem to me its Ok for English, Scottish and Irish to show some national pride but not the Welsh. History wouldn't change the genocide committed by the English over the Welsh. Then they moved onto Scotland, but the Scots get remembered.

I repeat, if you are determined to re-live and bear a grudge for every dark age and medieval skirmish since the Viking invasions then there isn't a race in Europe you wouldn't hate. Get over it for pity sake.

We forgot already, apart from some ludicrous statement a while back of Cameron apologizing for British involvement in Slavery, despite southern America's whites making huge profits from it and still hated black people until the 1960s.. The UK did not invent slavery, you can go back to biblical times and find any number of civilizations from Roman to Assyrian to Egypt that were founded on it. Maybe we should go back to Italy and demand compensation for what the Roamns did in Wales slaughtering an entire island population in Anglesey... We would have to demand compensations from most countries in the World, and them from us, we have to move on, no-one is saying forget. Slavery still exists in Asia, the middle east and Africa. EXCEPT WE TURN A BLIND EYE BECAUSE IT MEANS CHEAPER GOODS FOR US...
