The rich benefit

First published in Letters

EDUCATION minister Michael Gove has criticised David Cameron for having a “preposterous number of Old Etonians in his inner circle’’.

Tory Mr Gove compared Cameron’s cabinet to that of Eton-educated Tory prime minister Robert Gascoyne-Cecil.

Cameron’s cabinet of the privileged explains why he is so out of touch with ordinary working people and cannot understand that people who earn £150,000 a year do not need a five per cent tax cut, or that those who earn £300,000 a year can actually pay for their own child care and do not need or deserve a £2,000 a year state subsidy.

We are told there is no money, yet when it comes to tax cuts and help with child care Dave is focused on helping those who can help themselves.

What a completely stupid attitude. It happens to be the best school in the UK and your idea is to demolish it? Presumably if it was the best University? or Hospital? You'd knock that down too? You epitomise the Welsh attitude to all things successful.

It is the breeding ground of privilege and class warfare elitists. It isn't what they learn, its who they know. we are the only country in the world that allows so many from one public school to inhabit government office, its wide open to abuse and is being abused by Nepotism. These people are so remote from the main in the street as to make the running a government madness and will only encourage the rich getting richer and the poor staying that way. It's basics if you don't understand your populace you sure as hell should not be deciding for them how they live. These people spend more an a meal than most get in wages for a week, and the try to relate that with running the country.
