Wildlife truth

FOLLOWING the recent statement put out on Facebook by Mike Edwards, of City Wildlife, we feel we should put right some of the misrepresentations, particularly regarding his comment he was filling a void as far as wildlife rescuers in south Wales was concerned. In fact there are at least six extremely good wildlife rescue groups in south Wales all of which were well established before City Wildlife arrived.

The statement actually read, ALL SPECIES and REGISTERED CHARITY so there was no misrepresentation at all, it was never said City Wildlife Care was the only rescue.
There is a legal obligation to register a charity once it has raised £5000, Swan Rescue South Wales have been going since the mid 70's and are still not registered..........

I have to speak as I find - I have used City Wildlife Care both in a work and personal capacity to assist with injured wildlife and have found them a very professional organisation. CWC have come out and done rescues when other wildlife organisations would not.

@comeontheport:
Registered Charities also required to submit annual returns - CWC return for last year now TEN MONTHS OVERDUE!

Also asking, how can CWC claim to rescue 2,500 animals a year yet only declare an income of £6k to £7k for the last two years?

I have used CWC on several occasions and they have always been professional and prompt and put the animals needs first. As stated, CWC is the only all species charity. CWC has come to my house very late on a Saturday night before to save a bank vole. The vole was saved and successfully released back into the wild. No other rescue charity would have done this. It's great to have wildlife charities that specialise in certain species but we desperately need an all species charity like CWC. I find it a shame that other wildlife charities feel the need to publicly write harmful statements about another charity. Surely all wildlife charities understand the hardships of this business and need to work together. It should be about our wildlife and not individual egos.

@Watcher101

Who are you asking? Try calling CWC and asking them if you want to know how they run their charity, it works for me.
By the way you're wrong about the annual returns it's not 10 months overdue it's 24 days and being 24 days overdue is not illegal unlike not bothering to register at all.
