Stop bickering

First published in Letters

I WONDER if other Caerphilly CBC residents and readers of these columns are as fed up as I am of the bickering between the councillors of this authority. I would be more impressed if they settled their differences and spent more time listening to those who elected them. And, as if, putting into being their reasonable requests and suggestions that are otherwise over ruled by the ill informed un-elected.

The problem is Labour councillors are not willing to listen to other opinions and not willing to work with other councillors but only under their terms. The old dark red cloud Soviet Union politics has come to Caerphilly council.

I agree with pwlldu. Caerphilly labour councillors are embedded in (outdated) socialist values & won't consider giving any quarter. They bicker on this forum attempting to score political points but anyone who reads their drivel is unimpressed. They really are cloth-cap councillors who shout down anything reasonably proposed. Meanwhile, the real problem with CCBC, which is the cavalier actions of the middle managers & chief executives, goes unchallenged. There's a long list of incidents that the electorate won't forget on April 24th. Illegal salary payments, illegal car allowances, illegal surveillance of employees, to name but a few. We have 2 execs facing criminal charges next month & another exec summoned to court. I really do home that people cannot continue voting for standing councillors who are well past their sell by date & are guilty of the poor performing authority by long term association. Vote for fresh blood on April 24th or you only have yourselves to blame.

Note that all the poor slum areas in Wales are Labour controlled.
They are of the opinion that all we pay our council taxes for is is to fund their corrupt lavish lifestyles and not to provide the services that we all expect.

power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. Labour needs 35% who vote to get re-elected. How fair is that.
