WHAT a blessing it was to be at St Dingat’s Church, New Tredegar on Monday.
Aberbargoed Ladies’ Choir conducted by Hetty Watkins, together with the Gwent String Quartet and guest Paul Smith (bass) gave an outstanding performance of John Stainer’s The Crucifixion – a Meditation on the Sacred Passion of the Holy Redeemer.
A special mention for the quite remarkable Hetty Watkins, who in addition to her primary role, stepped in at short notice to take the place of the lead soprano who had to drop out due to illness.
All donations went to help Kyle Hutchings of Llantarnam School and his family.
As many will know, following a serious traffic accident, Kyle has been receiving treatment at The University of Wales Hospital, and will shortly be attending Tadworth Rehabilitation Unit.
