WITH Torfaen Council considering all means of reducing landfill, might I suggest they go back to using the incinerator which was in use for years at the New Inn Recycling Station. All household rubbish was burnt and only ash residue would then be sent to landfill. Fumes from burning can be controlled by systems that are/were used by foundries in cities like Birmingham.
I would be interested in Torfaen Councils reply to this solution to the landfill problems. Ii could be instead of considering monthly collections or smaller bins for household waste, which would both create huge fly tipping problems in the area.
