THE POSTCODE Lottery Green Challenge Scholarship is an exciting new initiative for prospective students in Scotland, England and Wales who are wishing to pursue a ‘green-themed’ full-time or part-time postgraduate degree at the Open University.

The competition is in search of submissions from the next generation of aspiring inventors and innovators who have a big idea that could make a considerable contribution towards cutting carbon emissions.

A total of four scholarships are available and applicants are not required to have a fully developed business plan or be ready to go to market.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage potential students with green ideas to ‘think big’ and apply to be given a chance to be one of four winners of the £8,500 award.

The strongest applicant will also win a trip to Amsterdam in September for the final of the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge, the world’s largest competition for environmental entrepreneurs. Applicants with an innovative, creative and original idea can complete an application form at www.postcodeculturetrust.org/scholarship Applications for the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge Scholarship will end at 5pm on Friday, May 16 and winners will be announced by Friday, June16.

The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge Scholarship is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery who have awarded more than £39.9 million to good causes in Scotland, England and Wales as well as globally.

As a supported charity, Gwent Wildlife Trust would like to thank players of People’s Postcode Lottery. To date, it has received more than £33,000 in funding, money that supports the essential work we do on our beautiful Gwent reserves.
