Bus stop blues

First published in Letters

I AM writing after Stagecoach announced it was to cut the No 30 service from Brynmawr to Cwmbran.

I telephoned Stagecoach and the operator told me it was due to the route not being financially viable.

I often travel on the No 30 and the amount of people that use this service is actually quite a sizeable number. My concern about cutting this service is that a high amount of elderly people use this bus and some of them have limited mobility.

Is Stagecoach expecting them to walk to stops served by the X24? If they are, then this isn't going to happen. They need to think again. Ryan Cleminson Ty Fry Estate

Profit before people. I would keep pressurising them or find out if SEWTA is going to pick up the can.

Ryan sir,
please can you contact your local authority to complain,
And ask what the coordination of public transport is with the other authority's
We understand Newport bus has been taking up the slack in the Chepstow area. And covering the x16 services in your area. Perhaps you could let us all no?
