I READ the story about the little girl whose mother died tragically in childbirth (July 14).

I’m all for raising funds for charities to make the world a better place, but this little girl is not the only child to grow up without a parent or parents who have been lost through such sad circumstances.

There are millions of children in this situation and most will never have a trust fund or inheritance waiting for them when they become adults. They will make their own way in life.

Any money made from this event should be given to medical research to help stop this tragedy happening again.

Throwing money into a trust fund for the baby’s future will not bring back the mother she never knew.

Give the money to medical research. It will one day save someone else from terrible loss and grief.

I’m sure I’m not the only person who thinks this. People don’t wish to offend and nobody wants to be the bad guy, but we are all too politically correct nowadays.

We’d all like to save the world, but we can’t.
