WE RECEIVED a leaflet this morning telling residents local to the Celtic Manor a little more about restrictions during the (Nato) summit. It informed us of the two road closures planned and stated that no others are planned at this time.
So off to work I went and 200 yards up the road promptly saw a sign stating that the slip road to get on the M4 westbound will be closed on the 4,5,6 and 7 of September! This now means that to get to Cardiff at any point during these days will be a nightmare not just at peak times as we have been led to believe. I’m glad the summit is being held in Newport but I’m sure most residents do not appreciate being treated like mushrooms. As a local heating engineer this will have a huge effect on earnings over the period and I’m sure a lot of residents will be in similar positions.
