I HAVE not seen a business plan showing why it is necessary to close the Caerleon campus of the University of South Wales.
As a former curator at Newport Museum, I have worked with the university based at Caerleon on various projects over many years. To me, it appeared to be successful and vibrant, closely working with the local community.
Since the merger, it has been gradually degraded and it is no wonder that student numbers have been affected. In the commercial world this type of takeover and closure is called asset stripping. I very much fear that this is the case with Caerleon.
