AT the outbreak of war, men who had no religious beliefs suddenly became highly religious. Mr Peart is right. Why was his father, who was an experienced miner, taken out and his job given to an objector? And how does Mr Tony Bond compare Bevin Boys to our brave troops, some of whom died fighting for our country? Why is it only the Bevin Boys have had recognition? Why weren’t all miners given recognition? The miners trained them!
