MY neighbour called me over today and she was very upset. Apparently, she had put a small amount of peel in her garden bin and the bin men had refused to empty it. She is 86 years old and does her best with the recycling, but this incident has really upset her. I bet if it was a big, burly man they wouldn’t have said a word. Anyway, apple peel can be composted. I can’t believe that it should be an issue. Instead of having a go at her, why don’t they have a go at the people who don’t recycle at all. They are the ones whose bins are so full that the lids won’t close and recyclable items can be seen sticking out of them.
