I TOTALLY agree with Neil Pritchard (Argus, September 19) about the state of the canal in our area. I used to enjoy walking along the path, often taking food for the ducks and moorhens. It’s so overgrown now, you would have a job to see them. The canal itself is choked with bulrushes and other vegetation and if this isn’t dealt with, you won’t be able to see any water. If Caerphilly can keep it’s stretch of canal in good order, why can’t Newport?
