I HEARD on a current affairs programme that a large percentage of under-thirties have little knowledge of Remembrance Sunday.
Why doesn’t that surprise me?
I guess that also applies to many, except those from nations that fought with us to save us from being under the cosh of fascism, who come seeking the benefits of succour and asylum that the freedom of our country offers.
I say wear a poppy with pride, whilst remembering those who gave their lives, or were maimed, physically or mentally, fighting for that freedom.
Every penny raised by the sale of poppies goes to help those people and their families. Those, who in many cases, cannot help themselves.
Long live the British Legion, say I.
Guard your freedom, it can easily disappear!
