NEWPORT East MP Jessica Morden (SWA Oct 27) mentions various grants from several sources including Newport council, being used for the regeneration of Maindee. Would that be for the benefit of property owners who shouldn’t have allowed their buildings to fall into disrepair in the first place? I thought there were laws to deal with that sort of neglect?
She writes about Christian Aid hunger for justice service and tackling climate change at Caldicot methodist church, although what religion has got to do with windmills and solar panels is anybody’s guess.
Third world religion however, (ie Catholicism and out of control birth rates) and the chopping down of their rain forests is a major concern so I trust that those subjects received a decent airing. Personally I think that trade not aid is a better answer to the problems of the world’s poorer countries.
