I WRITE in response to Torfaen Council’s decision to introduce smaller wheelie bins for non-recycled waste. Even though there was a so-called public consultation, it seems that this was always the plan. I have never known John Cunningham, the executive member for neighbourhood services, of TBC to be interested in residents’ views. I had cause to discuss late or no collections in our area over a year ago.
Reducing the size of the bins shows that you don’t trust the people you represent, Mr Cunningham. What happens in the future when you want to achieve a higher recycling target? Perhaps another public consultation and even smaller bins.
