THE other day, I saw an advert for Newport and felt quite proud until I realised it was on eBay. Apparently, there were no bids. Hardly surprising really – an eviscerated town centre with a doubtful rescue plan, a relief road whose plan may well wreck our dock trade, a ruin of a ship and a dinosaur bridge with no plausible plan at all.
And we are still expected to foot the bill for a Nato summit that, apparently, didn’t take place in Newport, but somewhere called The Vale of Usk. Good here, isn’t it?
