DENNIS JONES should be grateful for the sacrifice made by Commonwealth troops and people during the First and Second World Wars, whether it was the Chinese workers who maintained the tanks in the Great War or the 220,000two hundred and twenty thousand Commonwealth troops who were killed in the 1940-43 North Africa campaign (WWII). On July 1 1945 the troops of the Indian army stood at over 2,250,000, The British Army numbered 2,900,000. Given the destructive nature of colonialism (war, exploitation, famine), I think MrDennis Jones should be doubly appreciative of those who indeed practise different religions, have other cultures and traditions.
