I REFER to the letter of 17th November from Colin Mann. The ongoing bickering between various Caerphilly Council Borough councillors via these columns is becoming tiresome.

Not a Conservative and never likely to be, I am motivated to recall wise words of John Major within weeks of becoming Prime Minister, “Why must this House be a battle ground. Why cannot the two sides work to the benefit of the country?” If I have quoted inaccurately, I am sure that someone will tell me.

Councillors of CCBC of all parties and others please take note. Develop a dialogue that will encourage your constituents and others in this borough to become interested in local and then national politics by discussing matters of real importance with which the local residents can identify, rather than arguing in a way that is becoming of an infant.
