AS A member of the patchwork group at The Settlement, Pontypool, I am very concerned about the future, with developments that have recently occurred. Classes have been moved elsewhere and money has been spent when there is no need for it. Offices have been set up where computer rooms once were and the computer rooms now set up downstairs where patchwork and other classes were accommodated.

Not only this, but a lot of money has been spent unnecessarily on carpets and equipment. Our patchwork class has been moved to the main hall, which is not suitable by any means. It should be made known that these and all other classes are valuable assets to the people of Torfaen and people who attend from Abergavenny and Blackwood.

People depend on places like The Settlement where they can take up in hobbies, but more importantly, to socialise with the local community. If this is taken away, most people would have nowhere else to go as this is their only form of company and enjoyment.

We want to stay at The Settlement, Pontypool.
